Free Counselling – “We have two counsellors; one is a young persons counsellor, and the other counsels everyone. We have an office where this takes place in Fort William”.
Open Doors is a community initiative bringing people together in a safe space. They can drink hot drinks and get something to eat and spend time with other people. There is no agenda and it is a confidential and safe space for people to chat about anything at all.
For young people. Our Education Officers provide mental health awareness lessons in schools called Wellbeing Heroes. The Wellbeing Champions programme provide training, awareness and support within schools, workplace and the community. Throughout both programmes, we give those participating the tools to actively improve their wellbeing and provide peer support by teaching resilience-building and self-regulation skills.

This website is developed by the Highland Council Psychological Service to support children and young people, families and staff working with them, to access the right information at the right time to support their mental health and wellbeing.
The site has a wide range of information, resources and signposts for all ages and stages.
An online library catalogue where you can search for and request resources from the Health Improvement Resources Service (HIRS). There is no charge for using the library which is part of NHS Highland’s Health Improvement Department.
Who can use the library?
Anyone working or living within the NHS Highland geography, this includes Highland Council. You can browse the library and download without registering for the service. To request resources you will need to register. Downloadable resources are available for those living in Argyll and Bute
What does the library contain?
The library stocks training packs, games, models, displays, equipment and other resources available for loan. Leaflets and posters can also be ordered from HIRS.
