West Highlands & Skye : How to Listen Webinar

Samaritans are hosting a programme of webinars for the West Highlands & Skye – raising awareness of emotional health, suicide, self-harm, how to seek and provide support, as well as an introduction to listening skills.
There are five webinars in the series:
- Emotional health and wellbeing
- Challenging myths about suicide
- Self-harm
- Staying resilient
- How to listen
Each session will include an introduction to Samaritans and then focus on a specific theme, sharing ways to contact or signpost to Samaritans. There will also be the chance to find out more about volunteering opportunities with Samaritans in the West Highlands and Skye area.
This webinar will cover:
- Introduction to Samaritans
- Signs of vulnerability
- Initiating a supportive conversation
- Active listening
- Supporting the person – not fixing the problem
- Samaritans: how we can support you
