SUMMARY:World Suicide Prevention Day - Change the Narrative
DESCRIPTION:World Suicide Prevention Day 2024 – Change the Narrative is a call to action to “Start the Conversation”.\nThe aim of the theme is to raise awareness about the importance of changing the narrative surrounding suicide and transforming how we perceive this complex issue. Changing the narrative requires systemic change. It’s about shifting from a culture of silence and stigma to one of openness\, understanding\, and support. \nThis call encourages individuals\, communities\, organizations\, and governments to engage in open\, honest discussions about mental health and suicide. By starting conversations\, we can break down barriers and raise awareness\, check in with a friend or loved one\, share personal stories and advocate for mental health resources and support services. Every conversation\, no matter how small\, contributes to a more supportive and understanding society. \nWe have a range of training available around suicide awareness which can help to “Start the Conversation” \n  \nCheck back for confirmed details including: \nMikeysline will be opening up The Hive for an open day. \nKooth will be running a Suicide Prevention Day webinar. \n  \n  \nPrevent Suicide Highland app\nThis is a suicide prevention app available to people in Highland. \nIt contains information on urgent help\, safety planning\, local services\, helping others and suicide information. \nThe app can be downloaded for mobile devices at: \n\nGoogle Play Store\nApple App Store
