    This course is designed for young people aged over 14 who want to know more about mental health. It might also be of interest to parents, caregivers, teachers, and medical professionals.

  • Childhood Trauma & Adversity

    Delivered by:

    Highland Council Psychological Service

    Aims and Objectives:  

    • Provide an understanding of psychological trauma, what it is, how it impacts on wellbeing, and how we can all help children to recover.
    • Cover the knowledge elements of the first two levels of the National Trauma Training framework.

    Duration:

    Part 1 & Part 2 – 2.5 hours each session 

    Audience: 

    All staff, professionals, community groups working with children and young people and parents. This includes those working with families and in adult services.

    Both online or face to face

  • Bloom Resilience Training

    Delivered by:

    Mental Health UK

    Aims and Objectives

    Educational preventative mental health programme:

    • To support young people aged 14-18 to build resilience and develop skills to protect their mental health through life’s transitions.
    • Is interactive and uses relatable scenarios like dealing with stress over exams, coping with uncertainty, managing social relationships, dealing with pressure around finding a job or going to university.
    • Includes staff training, co-delivery of mental health workshops, and a range of resources.
    • Provide tools and knowledge to help young people to adapt to times of change and difficulty in a mentally healthy way. 

    Duration:

    1 – 3 hours

    Audience:

    • Teach young people aged 14-18
    • Based at a school or college
    • Support / work with young people in a non-education setting such as community outreach centres and youth groups.
    • Support / work young people who are on the waiting list for CAMHS or young people who do not require further clinical intervention. 

    Delivery Method:

    • There are qualified training associates available to deliver this programme in the Highland area, in person, either in schools/colleges or in non-educational settings.
    • There are also online options available.
